Let Sleeping Puppies....

Lie...
Michael has been very tired lately, as have we all as we battle through the coughs and colds the babies bring home from school...
It all adds to my tiredness, though the results contine to be good....PSA down again (185, down from 256)....and my blood count way up towards respectable numbers. Not much to add....could do with shaking off these coughs and colds.

Recapitulation....

Events.circumstances and health issues caused a whole series of photos to get forgotten about....here is a feeble attempt to catch up, from Spring 2010....

But nowt makes her happier than an armful of her babes in the water.

Halloween + Health Update

The Daemons prepare to do their worst!!
The update on my state of health is as follows:
The advance of my condition over the summer brought about a serious state of anaemia....diagnosed in September. My white cell count was so low that I couldn't join the trial I had hoped for...and for which, ironically, chemo had been delayed. The first dose of Chemo duly put me on my back, and I spent the weekend in intensive care, with 4 blood transfusions over the w/e.
Chemo was not interrupted however, and the first results came halfway through October. My PSA, which had risen to an alarming and dangerous 1350, had been slashed to 250. The Doc was astonished. My capacity to make blood was still compromised by the advance of tumoral activity into the bone, so that I was given more blood.
I have now completed the 'second cycle' of treatment, and will have more tests in a fortnight. My blood has improved, however, and the Doc pronounces me 'off the danger list'....just as well since the entire family is carrying infections...just what I need!!
So there it is. Chemo leaves me tired, and with various 'tummy upsets', but is surprisingly bearable. No headaches, bleeding, gum sores or vomiting.....the usual side-effects.
I'll tell you more when there is more to tell!! Love to All.
